Non Attendance / Cancellations.
Motorcycle training is a maximum two pupils per instructor for all "on road" training. This means there is usually a waiting list, so if you decide to cancel or change your course date you must give a minimum 7 day’s notice before you training starts. Deposits are refundable providing at least 7 days’ notice is given, otherwise course and test fees are payable in full.
Non attendance – Deposit will be non-refundable and you will be invoiced in full for training and test fees (if applicable).
Helmets:
2 Counties supplies helmets for use during training and tests. It is the trainee’s responsibility to look after the helmet, any damage caused to any of 2 Counties Rider Trainings helmets will be charged at £40 towards replacing the helmet.
If you are using your own helmet it must be road legal. It must display the European ECE22.05 (E mark) or British Standard on the helmet and visor.
Motorcycle hire:
All 2 Counties Rider Training motorcycles are covered by fully comprehensive Insurance and is included in the course fee. However, up to a £250 fee is payable by the trainee following any accident / damage caused to the hire vehicle. All damage must be paid for in full within 14 days.
All trainees are responsible for any parking or road traffic offences committed whilst riding 2 Counties Rider Training machines.
Use of own Motorcycle / scooter / moped.
Should you use your own vehicle for training; the vehicle must be roadworthy and meet all requirements of the road traffic act in effect at the time of training. All vehicles must display ‘L’ plate’s front and rear and all controls should operate correctly.
Moped riders (not exceeding 50cc) should ensure the vehicle is not de-restricted unless the rider is at least 17 years of age.
Driving Licence.
It is your responsibility to ensure your licence entitles you to ride the vehicle to be used in training, Moped (Group ‘P’ or group ‘E’ on licences pre 1990) Motorcycles/Scooters (Group ‘A’ or group ‘D’ on licences pre 1990) Some licences issued in the mid 1990’s do not have motorcycle entitlements so you may have to re apply for a new licence.
Medical conditions and Alcohol/Drugs.
If you have any medical condition or special requirements, which may affect you’re riding, please inform us when booking, and advise your instructor on arrival. We would strongly advise against taking motorcycle training during pregnancy or taking prescription medication that could affect your ability to ride and as such reserve the right to continue training with you. Any persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be refused training and the relevant authorities called.
Compulsory Basic Training (CBT).
All our training is conducted to DVSA standards and your safety is paramount to us. A Compulsory Basic Training course is normally completed on the day, If further training is required for a suitable standard to be attained, then further charges will apply.
The CBT may be stopped at any time, for safety reasons at the sole discretion of the instructor. In which event no refund will be due and further training will only be offered at our discretion.
Adverse weather conditions/DVSA Cancelled tests.
There may be occasions when training / test cannot proceed due to adverse weather conditions; the training will be re-scheduled.
If a Module 1 or Module 2 test is cancelled by the DVSA due to bad weather or other reasons the test will be re scheduled or the test fee will be re funded.
Please note that bike hire and training fee’s still apply.
Eyesight.
Eye sight test, should you fail the eyesight test then the training fee is still payable in full. If you wear contact lenses or glasses, please bring them on your training course.(You must be able to read a number plate from 20.5 metres).
The acceptance form must be signed by the trainee (and parent or guardian if trainee is under 18) and handed to an instructor on the first day of training or it can be completed on the day.
